Glaucoma is a silent killer
Glaucoma is irreversible vision loss in which optic nerve is damaged. It is a second leading cause of blindness affecting the visual field. No specific symptoms to warn you.
Some precautions can help to delay the progression of the disease
Regular eye check-up must if you are above 40 years. Lowering intraocular pressure is important, so keeping track on eye pressure is a good idea. The drops prescribed by an eye specialist should be regularly taken at the same time. A five mins delay may enhance five mins progression of the disease. On entering a dark room, if you take more than 30 secs or if you find rainbow colors around bright light it is alarming. Frequent change of spectacles number is also an alert.
