Holi with Toddlers and Kids

Mommies if you are wondering how to enjoy Holi and at the same time keep your toddlers & Kids safe,  here are the tips to ensure you have a happy colorful and vibrant Holi without much hullabaloo.

.
Train your kid well in advance for festival
Before the festival steps in, explain your kid the importance of the festival. Brief him pichkari and water balloons etiquettes. Educate him how important is to play safely without harming oneself and others. Make him understand the adverse effect of synthetic colors on body parts.

 Dressing for Festival
Ensure to select two-three sets of dresses for using them during the festival. Full sleeves clothes are more recommended by experts. Pants Trousers Leggings along with full sleeves t-shirts, tops maxis are just perfect. Cotton clothes are preferred more. Tie-up the hairs properly inside a shower cap or artificial wig to save child’s hair from getting harm. Try to use goggles for the safety of eyes. Don’t allow kids to wear wet clothes for long or else they are more likely to catch a cold and cough. You must apply a lot of oil in hair and cream on the body parts uncovered

 Food and Beverages intake
Prepare kids favorite meal early in the morning before stepping out for playing colors. The day becomes tired after the colors and children become hungry and fussy when back. Take light snacks along with you to curb the hunger during the celebration. Liquid intake should be proper as out in the sun body requires much of water. Alcoholic food and beverages like bhang etc should be not be kept within reach of the children. It would be better if white flour (maida) and deep-fried items are given in a limit to the young enthusiast. Overeating should be avoided.

 Colour  Pick
The usual synthetic colors available in the market have chemicals in it. These non-toxic colors make long-lasting damage to skin, hairs, eyes, and nose. May it be gulal or for that matter any other color it can prove lethal to the child. So it’s essential to choose colors which are organic or are homemade. Flowers and vegetables can be used to form a different kind of colors.  A little hard work can make sure that your child enjoys the festival of colors unharmed.

 Getting Rid of Colors
Always use tap water instead of warm water for getting rid of colors. Before shampooing the hairs, rinse off the hairs thoroughly with cold water so that all the extra colors get removed. It would be a better idea if you can first apply a homemade hair mask which includes curd and Multani-mitti on hairs. After that shampoo and do apply conditioner. For removing colors from body use a cleanser and scrubber again preferably a home-made ( Besan, curd, turmeric, few drops of lemon juice).

Be vigilant
Last but certainly not the least be vigilant. Keep an eye on the kids while they play and enjoy. Also, keep the emergency number ready in case any mishappening occurs.

Hoping that keeping these points in mind you will really have HAPPY AND SAFE HOLI !!!
